Porto, de groepswinnaar uit de groep met Club Brugge, mocht het dinsdagavond opnieuw opnemen tegen Inter. Het moest een 0-1 achterstand zien goed te maken, maar slaagde daar niet in. Romelu Lukaku mocht na 70 minuten invallen, al waren de fans niet blij met zijn prestatie. Porto hield wel de nul, en mocht daar Diogo Costa voor bedanken. De Portugees stopte in Brugge twee strafschoppen, waardoor Porto met 0-4 kwam winnen in Jan Breydel. Hij hield tegen Inter dus opnieuw een clean sheet, en ondanks de uitschakeling willen de Manchester United-fans hem maar al te graag inlijven. Dat bleek uit de reacties op Twitter:
