HUH? Wayne Rooney komt niet in actie, maar viert winst League Cup als aanvoerder

Manchester United won zondag de Engelse League Cup door met 3-2 te winnen van Southampton. Wayne Rooney zou invallen toen het 2-2 stond en was al klaar voor de wissel, maar na het doelpunt van Zlatan zette coach José Mourinho liever Fellaini in het veld. Geen probleem verder, maar Wayne Rooney kwam dus niet in actie.

Toch vierde hij de winst met zijn ploeggenoten mee, maar deed dat wel op een aparte manier. Hij droeg namelijk gewoon de aanvoerdersband. Een beetje raar, merkten ook wat voetbalsupporters op. Zij refereerden vooral naar John Terry, die iets soortgelijks ook eens deed.
