Ken jij Rabbi Matondo nog? De razendsnelle Welshe winger maakte furore in België bij Cercle Brugge. Tijdens het seizoen 2021/2022 speelde hij 27 wedstrijden voor Cercle, als leenspeler van Schalke, en was daarin goed voor tien doelpunten en twee assists. Door zijn goede prestaties kreeg hij veel wereldwijde interesse, waaronder de blauw-zwarte Brugse buren. Na het seizoen keerde hij echter terug naar Schalke 04, maar na amper twee weken vertrok hij voor drie miljoen naar het Schotse Rangers FC. Daar speelt hij nu nog altijd. Ook dinsdagavond, in de Champions League.

Matondo vs PSV

Iets voorbij het uur mocht Rabbi Matondo zijn opwachting maken tegen PSV, in de heenmatch van de play-offs om in de poulefase van de Champions League te geraken. Landgenoot Bakayoko had even daarvoor PSV naar de gelijkmaker geleid. Matondo zelf had amper negen minuten nodig om zich op het scorebord te knallen, na een heerlijke assist van Dessers. Het zal de Welshman goed doen, want hij kreeg al veel kritiek te verduren van de strenge Schotse fans.
